** Moving forward, I am seeing all new and existing clients via Zoom video sessions.**
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who provides therapy to Adults and Couples. I primarily work with my clients to gain insight into their presenting problem and related issues through examining underlying patterns, thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I believe this process is essential to create positive change in people’s lives.
For this change to occur, I help individuals explore areas of their lives and within themselves that they want to deeply understand. Therapy may be uncomfortable at times. I'll help support individuals in tolerating and moving through that discomfort toward positive change. My approach is to create a balance between my clients’ thoughts and feelings, while helping them stay connected in their relationships and to their lives.
At this point in my work I am comfortable working with most issues individuals come in to address. I believe there is often an overlap of underlying emotions and thoughts that individuals experience, no matter what the presenting problem may be. I am very interested and comfortable discussing those experiences.
Here are some of the issues I often work with in my practice:
I work with individuals who are going through life transitions. Some examples include helping individuals dealing with self worth, sense of identity issues and relationship issues, helping an individual who is recently single or someone going through work changes.
In addition, I am comfortable working with individuals who are having sexual problems related to level of desire, performance, or pain. I enjoy helping people understand and attune to personal sexual preferences and lifestyles that may be causing stress or discomfort in their lives.
I also work with many individuals who are changing their drinking or drug use or who are sober and want to understand and heal from the impact addiction has had on their lives.
I enjoy working with couples who want to be proactive in addressing potential roadblocks in their relationship as well as couples who are considering whether they want to move forward together.
My belief is that life is too short and in order to find the happiness you want or relief from your discomfort, you, as an individual, need to take every step to heal, grow and move in a positive direction within yourself and in your relationships. It is my pleasure to help support you in this process.
